The 6^th Minor Irrigation Census, 2017-18 and Census of Water Bodies is being taken up in the State of Assam along with the whole country under the Rationalisation of Minor Irrigation Statistics(RMIS), a sub scheme under the Centrally Sponsored Scheme with 100% Central Assistance.

The traditional methodology has been adopted for the data collection for the 6^th Minor Irrigation Census, 2017-18 i.e. canvass paper based schedules for capturing the village level data and the Minor Irrigation Scheme data from the rural areas, while for Census of Water Bodies smartphones shall be used to capture latitude and longitude of water bodies and schedules of water bodies will be canvassed both for rural and urban areas.

Following are the Manuals and Schedules provided by Ministry of Water resources, Government of India for enumeration works to be carried out during the ongoing 6th Minor Irrigation Census with Reference Year 2017-18. This time, an exhaustive count of Water bodies will also be taken up.
